Parker Airguard Variflow VMC double-header rigid cell filters provide extended surface air filtration for commercial, industrial and institutional HVAC installations. Pleated microglass paper media and corrugated aluminum separators form a rigid media pack sealed inside metal cell sides. The rigid assembly is suited to variable air volume systems, turbulent airflow and repeated fan shutdowns, with the brochure stating that these conditions do not affect filter integrity or performance.
The water-resistant microglass paper media tolerates humidity and intermittent exposure to water. Moisture can temporarily increase resistance, which returns to normal as the moisture evaporates. Corrugated aluminum separators maintain pleat spacing for minimum resistance and full use of the media; their rolled edges help protect the media and reduce the risk of injury during handling.
The metal construction uses 24-gauge galvanized steel cell sides and headers. A high-loft microglass wrap seals the media pack on all four sides to prevent bypass around the pack and cushion it during shipping and handling. The recessed media pack adds protection against handling damage, while an expanded metal faceguard on the air-leaving side reinforces and protects the pack.
Double-header metal construction (VMC).
